WHS golfers compete in meets

The Cherokee Washington High girls golf team competed in two recent meets, including a Lakes Conference triangular with Spirit Lake Park and Le Mars at Okoboji View in Okoboji, and the Sibley-Ocheyedan Girls Invitational in Sibley.

Host SLP won the Lakes triangular after carding a 183, followed by Le Mars 203, and Cherokee 256. Sheldon won the S-O invite with a 185, and Cherokee was ninth with a 237.

SLP's Ashley Neilsen was medalist at Okoboji with a 41, and her teammate Nikki Neilsen was runner-up with a 43.

Low medal for Cherokee were Sarah Radke 58, Amanda Callahan 65, Katie Cuthrell 66, and Kelsey Ludwig 67. Also for Cherokee, Kayla Messerole shot a 70, and Sarah Rodgers carded a 76.

At the S-O invite, Ricca Soper of Estherville-LC was medalist with a 45, and Angie Origer of Okoboji was runner-up with a 46.

Low scorers for Cherokee were Radke 47, Ludwig 59, Callahan 60, and Messerole 71. Also, Cuthrell carded a 72 for Cherokee.
