KINGSLEY - Central Lyon swept both team titles at the Class 1A boys and girls District Track & Field Meet here Saturday.
The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn girls qualified two events, and the Eagle boys one for the state meet beginning Thursday in Des Moines.
MMC's Lara Letsche won the shot put with a 36-1 1/2 effort, and her teammate Anna Klingenberg placed third in the 800 meters in a time of 2:26.27 to each earn a state berth.
The Eagles' shuttle hurdle relay unit of Derek Lewis, Jordan Boekhout, Lukas Nelson, and Will Hanson placed second in 1:02.11 to earn a state berth.
River Valley's girls also qualified one event for state, with Heather Husman winning the 200 meters in 26.46.
Other top finishes for the MMC girls missing out on state berths were Alex Hoefling's fifth-place finish in the 200 meters in a time of 27.52; the 4x200 relay of Hoefling, Jena Mittlestadt, Klingenberg, and Ashley Schneider timed in 1:52.83 for fourth place; the 4x100 relay of Hoefling, Schneider, Mittlestadt, and Klingenberg fourth in 54.45; the sprint medley relay of Lindsie Holmes, Mittlestadt, Hoefling, and Klingenberg fifth in 1:58.74; th 4x400 relay of Mittlestadt, Rachel McDermott, Megan Deichman, and Schneider sixth in 4:40.49; and the 4x800 relay of McDermott, Jill Bird, Deichman, and LeAnn Johnson sixth in 11:27.36.
For the MMC boys placing but missing out on state, were Alex Roseen fifth in the discus with a 130-5 effort; Will Hanson's 16.46 time for fourth place in the 110-meter hurdles; Kyle Kohn's 11.20 time in the 100 meters for third and his24.05 clocking in the 200 meters for fourth; the 4x200 relay fourth in 1:36.52; the 4x100 relay fourth in 46.64; and the 4x800 relay sixth in 9:21.83.
For the River Valley boys, Chance Cullen was fourth in the 400 meters in a time of 54.48, and sixth in the 800 meters in 2:08.80.
Other top finishes for the RV girls were Kaysi Byers fifth in the 3000 meters in 12:11.74; Katie Carnes sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.83; Marissa Graham sixth in the 800 meters in 2:38.29.
Central Lyon won the boys team title with 109 points, with Lawton-Bronson second with 60. MMC totaled 33, and RV 6.
Central Lyon won the girls team title with 90 points and Hinton was second with 74. MMC had 30, and RV 16.
