Visiting Estherville-LC ran roughshod over the Cherokee Washington High softball team here on June 18th, storming to a convincing 12-2 Lakes Conference victory.

Cherokee managed just two runs on three hits, committed seven errors, and stranded three runners on base against the Midget's pitcher Christensen, who walked three batters and sturck out three.

Shauna Drefke got the mound loss for Cherokee, giving up eight earned runs on nine hits and no walks, with six strikeouts, including E-LC's first three batters in the first inning. The Midget batters pounded out three doubles and a triple in the onslaught.

Kylie Dilla relieved Drefke on the mound and gave up one hit while facing three E-LC batters.

Emily Anderson was 1-1 with a run scored, and Kelsey Essick 1-2 with a double and run scored to lead the WHS girls. Lynn Carlson had the other Cherokee hit in a 1-2 performance.

Cherokee is 5-8 over all and 2-3 in the Lakes Conference.
