G-H was led at the plate by Victoria Andresen, who went 2-2, and Sarah Lichter, Kristina Harris, and Heather Joslin all had at least one RBI. Freshman Jaime Christensen pitched another strong game, giving up just four hits over seven innings. Christensen walked one and struck out four Bulldog batters. Sophomore Emily Rohlk also hurled seven strong innings for the Aurelia squad, allowing seven hits and not walking anyone.
Both teams played strong defensive games as well. G-H threw out four Bulldog runners trying for extra bases, and Aurelia, said coach Jason Heeren, had their best defensive effort in quite awhile. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, the bats were pretty quiet - but Christensen may have had something to do with that. Tara Fordyce had two of the four Bulldog hits and knocked in their one run.
Galva-Holstein now sports an overall 11-9 mark, and is 4-3 in Maple Valley Conference action.
