Frederick H. Reinert, 72, of Cherokee, died July 4, 2007 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee. Rev. Armand Bertrand will officiate. His body will be cremated. Fred was born May 27, 1935 in Cherokee, Iowa to Fred and May (Leguil) Reinert. He attended school in Cherokee in the Immaculate Conception School system. He served in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he lived in California and owned and operated a drive-in restaurant. He later returned to Cherokee, where he operated the Cherokee Taxi Co. He also was engaged in construction and remodeling for several years, as well as farming northeast of Cherokee, for the past 37 years.
Survivors include his sister; Jane Miller, of Cherokee; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Jim, Don, Clayton, Sylvester "Bud" Reinert and three sisters: Evelyn Hanson, Gladys Zwemke, and Viola Wallace.
