South O'Brien pitcher, junior Aphton Roberts, earned first-team All-War Eagle Conference Softball honors for her stellar play this season.
Her teammate, junior Faith Wittrock was a second-team selection as an outfielder. Three other Wolverines earned honorable mention status, including sophomore Chelsie Rohrs, sophomore Ashton Lansink, and senior Lidsay Woolston.
Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn featured four players receiving All-WEC honors, including second-team pick Lara Letsche, a senior first baseman. Eagles earning honorable mention status were junior Andrea Doeden, junior Whitney Walton, and sophomore Alex Hoefling.
Unanimous first-team picks included pitchers Kayla Smith (junior) of Akron-Westfield, and Amber Baird (senior) of Sergeant Bluff-Luton; catcher Sam Earlywine (senior) of SB-L; and infielder Tana Colt (senior) of A-W.
Other first-team picks were junior catcher Shelby Johnson of A-W, junior infielder Kristen Martinson of SB-L, senior infielder Maggie Krier of Remsen St. Mary's, sophomore infielder Britni Freed of Hinton, junior infielder Kaitlyn Lockhorst of Orange City Unity Christian, senior outfielder Rachel Harris of A-W, junior outfielder Jenna Woudstra of Unity Christian, freshman outfielder Jamie Schultz of SB-L, junior outfielder Ashley Langel of Le Mars Gehlen, senior utility player Dorinda Hibma of Unity Christian, and junior utility player Jessica Horton of A-W.
Akron-Westfield and Sergeant Bluff-Luton tied for the WEC team title this season with 17-1 records, followed by SOS and Unity Christian at 13-5, Hinton 9-9, Gehlen 6-12, RSM 6-12, Granville Spalding 3-15, West Sioux 3-15, and MMC 2-16.
