Duane Mummert, park superintendent said Tuesday that the pool is expected to be opened by August 9th at the latest.
He attributed the closing to fluke back-to-back storms that dumped four to five inches of rain in the area. The pool had to be drained and cleaned.
Mummert said that sod has been ordered to be put on the exposed area of a hill by the pool but it won't be placed until September. Mummert said that there isn't the staff or time to keep the sod watered through the summer.
He does not anticipate another closing of the pool because of mud unless there is another rain of 4 to 5 inches in a short time.
