The River Valley School Board made annual decisions regarding official designations for the 2007/08 school year.
The meeting was held on Thursday of last week rather than the usual third Monday of the month to coincide with an annual dinner on Thursday and to avoid a conflict with an open house at the elementary school on Monday.
The board approved bids from Earth Grains and Hostess Wonder for bakery products. The board approved a bid from Johnson Propane for propane fuel.
The board named the Chronicle Times and the Sioux Valley News as official publications of the district.
The annual progress report and the annual transportation report for the district were approved.
The board approved a contract for Aaron Orndorff was approved as a special ed aide and special ed bus driver.
The board approved purchase of a 1998 Dodge pickup for $5,000.
It was reported that the district received over $300,000 in revenue from the local option sales tax. About $189,000 from Woodbury County, about $105,000 from Cherokee County and the rest from Ida County.
