Doctors to start at Specialty Clinic Sept. 4

Dr. Jason Dierking
Starting Sept. 4, Dr. Troy Ivey and Dr. Jason Dierking will be providing general surgical services to area residents through the Specialty Clinic at Cherokee Regional Medical Center. Their scope of practice will include, but is not limited to: general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, EGD, colonoscopies, OB/GYN surgery (hysterectomy, tubal ligation, etc.), vasectomy, breast biopsy, mastectomy, and abdominoplasty. Dr. Ivey will see patients in the Specialty Clinic every Tuesday and Dr. Dierking will see patients in the Specialty Clinic every Friday; however, surgeries can be scheduled Monday through Friday.

Dr. Troy Ivey, a Board Certified General Surgeon, received his undergraduate degree at Iowa State University in 1985 and received his medical degree at the University of Osteopathic Medicine (now known as Des Moines University) in 1989. He completed an Internship at Loyola University in 1990 and a Residency at Michigan State University in 1994. Dr. Ivey and his wife Grace live in Storm Lake and have 4 children -- Catherine, Michael, Robert and Emily.

On Aug. 1, Dr. Jason Dierking, General Surgeon opened his practice in Storm Lake. Dr. Dierking received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Iowa in 1998. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 2002. He recently completed a residency at Spartansburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartansburg, South Carolina. Dr. Dierking, his wife Erika and their daughter Emma are in the process of moving to Storm Lake.
