Aurelia girls fall to Newell-Fonda

NEWELL - The Aurelia Bulldogs are still looking for their first volleyball win after a 3-0 loss to Northwest Conference foe Newell-Fonda here on Sept. 4th.

Game scores for the match were 25-13, 25-14, 25-12, as Aurelia is still seeking to win a game, following three season-opening sweeps.

Coach Tim Ireland said the Buldogs "made some very good plays at times - we just need to make more of them." He did add that the inexperienced Bulldogs "get better each night."

Arielle Megrath again paced the Bulldog offense at the net with five kills. Jodi Husman had 16 sets, including two for aces, and Sophomore Ashley Anderson had 11 sets, two for aces. On defense, Shelby Dierenfield and Tiffany Johnson led the blocking with 3 and 2, respectively.

The Aurelia JV team also lost, 16-21, 18-21; while the C team dropped two of three to N-F, 17-21, 21-18, 10-15.

The Bulldogs' next match is a home contest with Ruthven-Ayrshire on Sept. 6th
