Team named for exhibition game

The Harlem Ambassadors
A number of brave souls have agreed to face the Harlem Ambassadors Basketball Team that will be coming to the Washington High School gym on Sept. 27 for a game that will raise funds for the Bright Beginnings Day Care and Preschool.

The Harlem Ambassadors provide high-energy family entertainment, combining impressive athletic skills with showmanship and humor. In addition to entertainment, the Ambassadors promote the value of staying in school, staying off drugs and fostering racial harmony.

Tickets are $6 a person at the Cherokee Chamber Commerce at 225-6414 and Bright Beginnings at 225-5728. Age 3 and other are free. Tickets are $8 at the door.

The local team will be coached by Dick Point.

Team members are Tim Gaydo, Steve Mahnke, Don Rahn, Scott Weber, John O'Connor, Steve Kremer, Doug Goebel, Mike Allbaugh, Leigh Peterson, Brandon Slaughter, Wendy Slaughter, Trent Coombs, Ryan Lux, Mike Pitts, Rich Hinkhouse, Josh Cedar, Paul Hyndman, Travis Schueller, Heath Hagberg and Chris Jenness.
