AURELIA - The Aurelia girls came out just a little short in a non-conference volleyball match with Ruthven-Ayrshire here on Sept. 6.
After dropping a tough first game, 23-25, the Bulldogs overcame a rough start and won game two, 25-19 - their first win of the young season. They didn't take long to get win #2, though, taking the Raiders 25-23 in game three. R-A bounced back with a 25-13 win, then took the deciding fifth game by a 15-3 count.
Aurelia coach Tim Ireland said the match was played between "two very evenly matched teams... we simply did not pass well enough down the wire to win the match."
