Freshman Braves fall at HWC

HULL - The Cherokee Washington High freshman football team dropped a 44-8 decision at Hull Western Christian Tuesday night.

The Young Braves tallied their lone score in the fourth quarter after a long drive, with Seth Mahnke firing a 10-yard touchdown pass to Brock Dagel. Mahnke then hooked up with Alanzo Ruble for a two-point conversion pass.

Mahnke completed 11-33 passes for 148 yards, and rushed six times for 39 yards. He threw one interception.

Leading receivers for Cherokee were Dagel four catches for 14 yards, Ruble two catches for 51 yards, Jakob Hummel two catches for 34 yards, and Kristian Freed two catches for 29 yards.

Peter Cosgrove led Cherokee on defense with five tackles and three blocked PAt kicks, Ruble four tackles and one blocked PAT, Sam Hinkhouse five tackles, and Kyle Halder three tackles.
