Galva-Holstein XC girls win

MANSON - The Galva-Holstein Lady Pirates ran very well at the Sept. 4th Manson-Northwest Webster Invitational Cross Country Meet here, taking first place in the team scoring with a total of 39 points. Fort Dodge St. Edmond scored 66 points to take second place.

G-H's Jessie Mathes finished second with a time of 16:45, while teammates Maddy McAreavy (7th place, 17:30), Jayde Boyle (9th, 17:36), Breanna Mathes (10th, 17:41) and Ashley Drey (11th, 17:45) also contributed to the team's winning point total.

The Pirate boys team finished fourth in the boys race, scoring 122 points to trail St. Edmond (71), Prairie Valley (84), and Southern Cal-RCL (117).

John Harris led Pirate runners with an 18:48, good for 7th place individually. Other Pirates scoring team points were Andrew Galvin (20:16, 18th), Steven Galvin (20:30, 22nd), Collin Bubke (21:29, 32nd), and Jamie Conlon (22:23, 43rd).
