Melissa Lynn Prunty & Joshua Alan Schumacher were united in marriage on June 2, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls. Pastor Linda Pflugfelder officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Kevin & Julie Prunty of Cleghorn, and granddaughter of James & Marilyn Prunty of Cleghorn, and Gerald and Marge Goodburn, of Cherokee.

Joshua is the son of Alan & Joyce Schumacher of Marengo, and the grandson of Dorothy Schumacher of Marengo.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless Maggie Sottero satin dress with a lace overlay, corset back, and sweep train. The dress was embellished with bugle beads, sequins, and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white lilies and red roses.

April Pudenz, friend of the couple, served as maid of honor. Amanda Prunty, sister of the bride, Jennifer Prunty, sister of the bride, Abby Ray, sister of the groom, Angie Ver Huel, friend of the couple, and Katie Irwin, friend of the couple, served as bridesmaids. They wore floor length claret red dresses and carried bouquets of white lilies and red roses similar to the bride's. Flower girls were Emily Robinson, cousin of the bride, and Sydney Dietze, cousin of the groom.

Carl Schumacher, brother of the groom, served as the best man. Daniel Meier, cousin of the groom, Jesse Dietze, cousin of the groom, Kris Dougherty, friend of the couple, Chet Pabst, friend of the couple, and Eric Beck, friend of the couple, served as the couple's groomsmen. Ring bearer was Jody Dietze, godson of the groom.

Ushers were Chris Shannon, friend of the couple, Scott Schumacher, cousin of the groom, and Jon McMahon, friend of the couple.

Zachary Wilcox, friend of the couple, provided soloist music for the ceremony while Chase Meier, cousin of the groom, served as scripture reader.

A seated dinner followed the ceremony at the John Deere Supervisors' Club in Waterloo. Hosts were Kyle & Karla Prunty, uncle and aunt of the bride of Cleghorn, Steve & Donna Meier, uncle & aunt of the groom of Marengo, and Randy & Angie Carney, godparents of the groom, of Marengo.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and successfully passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam in May. She currently works in public accounting at Ernst & Young LLP as an auditor. The groom will be a December 2007 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. He is currently student teaching 5th grade at Crestview Elementary in Clive.

After a honeymoon in Riveria Maya, Mexico, the couple is at home in Urbandale.
