Homecoming week at WHS

September 17-21 is homecoming week at Washington High School, and numerous events are scheduled.

Monday,there will be a 1 p.m. release of the high school students from classes to decorate for Homecoming. Buses are provided, with no students driving.

At 7 p.m. Powder-Tuff Volleyball will be held in the high school gym, pending getting enough boys to sign up for this brand new event. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and admission is $2. No passes will be honored for this fundraiser.

The theme for Monday is "Freshman/blue, Sophomores/yellow, Junior/black and Seniors/green."

Tuesday's theme is "Costume Day" and there will be a Homeroom Olympics in the gym (Obstacle Course, Wild-n-Out).

Wednesday's theme is "Freshman/nerds, Sophomores/hippies, Juniors/farmers and Seniors Camouflage. There will again be Homeroom Olympics in the gym (Shapes Game, Bubble Gum Pie).

Thursday theme is "Twin Day." Homeroom Olympics will be outside (Bus Pull & Snacks Day).

At 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, Powder-Puff Games will be held. Admission is $2, no passes will be honored for this fundraiser. From 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. the Freshmen will take on the Sophomores and from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. the Juniors will take on the Seniors. The Bonfire and Pep Rally will be at the Bus Barn parking lot after the game.

Friday's theme is "School Spirit Day" with skits in the auditorium and the Homecoming Coronation in the auditorium at 1:30 p.m.

The Homecoming parade will start at 2:30 p.m., ending in the Drug Town parking lot for the "All Community Pep Rally."

Then the Cherokee Braves will take on the Sibley-Ocheyedan Generals at George Hicks Field at 7 p.m. Go Braves!
