Aurelia High School celebrated their Homecoming the week of September 24 -28.
Following a week of "theme days" for students, on Thursday evening, following the Homecoming parade and Pep Rally, the homecoming king and queen were announced.
For the second consecutive year, the Aurelia students named a King Andrew and Queen Kayla. Last year's royal couple, Kayla Ballantyne and Andrew Perry, were back for the festivities, and crowned their successors, Kayla Anderson and Andrew Sandine, to cap Thursday's activities.
First Trust and Savings Bank's Homecoming float, a replica of the 1921 Aurelia school building, was built by former employee Donnie Wieland, who died recently. The sign on the float says: "As Donnie would say: 'Go 'Dogs!' " Photo by Dan Whitney
The following night, the Bulldogs took on the Hawks in exciting, fast-paced eight-man football.
