County Fund Drive deserves support
There are 11 worthy organizations that have teamed up to raise funds to provide services and programs in Cherokee County. Some of them have other fund raising events and for others, this will be their only fund raising event in the county during the year.
The annual Cherokee County Fund Drive is a way to maximizing the fundraising impact of their efforts and to provide an opportunity for citizens to contribute to a variety of worthy causes without contributing to 11 different organizations.
The Fund Drive officially gets under way on Oct. This week, we have started printing a series of letters to the editor explaining the work of these organizations. We encourage readers to find out about the good work being done in the county.
The organizations are:
American Heart Association
American Red Cross
Boy Scouts
Council on Aging
Salvation Army
Elderly Peer
Girl Scouts
Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc.
Centers Against Abuse and Sexual Assault
Bright Beginnings Day Care
Associated Charities
No door-to-door stops will be made this year.
Contributions may be dropped off at any Cherokee County Bank or financial institution. Also, contributions may be sent to Cherokee County Fund, P.O. Box 21, Cherokee IA 51012.
Your generosity will be much appreciated.
