ALTA - The River Valley Wolverines won an exciting District Tournament semifinal match against Woodbury Central here on Wednesday by game scores of 26-24, 23-25, 23-25, 25-21, 16-14.

Wolverine coach Marlene Baumann described the match as "awesome," and added that "everyone contributed to the win."

"The fifth game," said the veteran coach, "was something you only dream of." In that game, RV was down by 11-2, but came back to tie it at 11. They then fell behind again, trailing 14-11 - just one point away from a season-ending defeat. At that point, said Baumann, "Jody Peterson and Amber Bauer served us to the win. That, coupled with a great ‘never say die' attitude by the team, allowed us to pull through."
