Kara Nelson named to All-GPAC XC team

Kara Nelson, shown running at the 2007 Iowa State Track Meet, was recently named to the GPAC All-Conference Cross Country team as a Morningside College freshman.
Cherokee Washington alumnus Kara Nelson has been named to the All-Great Plains Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country team. Nelson, a freshman, made a strong showing at last Saturday's GPAC Championships at Crete, Nebraska, finishing ninth in a time of 19:06.28.

Morningside sophomore runner Erin Keitges was named to the All-GPAC team for the second time. Keitges, from Allen, Nebraska, finished seventh at the GPAC Championships last week, running a time of 18:59.40.

Mustang Jeremiah Danga, a senior, finished eighth at the GPAC Championships, in a time of 26:27.64. Danga was named to the All-GPAC Men's team for the second year in a row.

Freshman Olivia Johnson of Northwestern College - a Milford, Iowa native - was named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Runner of the Year in the Women's Division, and Nebraska Wesleyan's Chris Dunker, a senior from Beatrice, Nebraska, was named the winner in the Men's Division.
