Sanford features famed native

Tuesday, November 6, 2007

A late Cherokee resident, known internationally as the father of computer art, is featured in the west gallery at the Sanford Museum. Ben Laposky is better known in the arcane international worlds of computer art and of mathematical puzzles than he was in his hometown. He called his work in computer art 'Oscillons' or 'Electronic Abstractions.' He also produced mathematical puzzles that were published in magazines. Laposky made his living as a graphic artist and sign painter. The exhibit will be on display until Nov. 25. Photo by Ken Ross
