Award winners for WHS volleyball

Team awards and letter winners were announced at the recent Cherokee Washington High volleyball post-season banquet.

Decorated senior Lacie Drennan was named the Most Valuable Player, and Best Offensive Player for the WHS varsity team, while Kelsey Essick was named Best Defensive Player, and Abby Craig Most Improved.

For the Cherokee JV, Julie Miller was chosen Best Offensive Player, and Most Improved, while Sarah Ruehle and Sanna Miller shared Best Defensive Player honors.

Drennan and Essick have also earned first team berths on the All-Lakes Conference team, while Alison Husman was named to the second team All-Lakes. Nicole Hatch, Cherokee's capable setter, was named to the All-Lakes Honorable Mention list.

Letter winners announced by first-year varsity coach Sherry Miller included Drennan, Alison Husman, Hatch, Essick, Craig, Alanna Valentine, Jesselyn Racine, Shauna Drefke, Misty Bruhn, Shelby Dilla, Miller, Christina Cromwell, Lauren Husman, and Jessica Cedar.
