Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at all three banks in Marcus (Farmers State Bank, Valley Bank and First Trust and Savings), as well as at the Pizza Ranch and Jeff's Foods. Members of the Marcettes are also selling tickets.
What makes this event a good one is that it is wonderful entertainment to see how others decorate their homes as well as see the layout of the rooms. At the same time, one is helping to support the Marcettes efforts in helping youngsters of the community through scholarships and fun activities for children. It is a win-win situation.
It is great that the home-owners will open their homes to the public and be gracious to decorate early. On the day of the tour, one must stop at the Farmers State Bank Community Room to pick up a booklet explaining where the homes are and what is expected. All touring participants must start their tour at the Community Room as you will need the booklet to be admitted into each home. Refreshments will be served from 1-3 p.m.
The six homes belong to Mike and Rose Brady, Ron and Melinda Rosewall, Darrell and Doris Downs, Todd and Kristi Ames, Dr. Dave and Kelly Wurth, and Andy and Nikki Busch.
Three homes are relatively new homes, two are great vintage homes that have had considerable remodeling, and one is about 20 years old. Each has its own look and will be fascinating to see.
