Kathryn F. Jacobsen, 85, formerly of Cherokee, died Nov. 18, 2007 at the Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville, following a brief illness.
Services were held Nov. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, with Father Armand Bertrand officiating. Burial was in the Maryhill Visitation Cemetery, rural Cherokee.
Kathryn George was born Feb. 21, 1922 in Cherokee, to Mathias and Lena (Glassmaker) George. She was educated at the Maryhill School in rural Cherokee County. On Aug. 11, 1947 she married Emil A. Mueller at Maryhill, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1967. On Nov. 26, 1976, she married Norman Jacobsen in Cherokee. He preceded her in death July 11, 1980. Kathryn was a homemaker all of her life, and loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and one son, Dennis Mueller.
Survivors include sons David Mueller of Sheldon, Joseph Mueller and his wife, Carol of Aloha, Oregon; James Mueller and his wife, Julie of Pella; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a stepson, Roger Weber and his wife, Wanda of Bemidji, Minn.; Ione Stiles and her husband, Chuck of Mobridge, S.D.; a step-daughter, Norma Wiebe of Henderson, Nev.; 13 step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren.
