Area Players earn INA football honors

DES MOINES - Five area football players have earned distinction by being named to the Iowa Newspaper Association's (INA) All-State football teams.

Cherokee senior Chris Campbell was named to the Class 2A second team offense. The fleet, 5-11, 170-pound wide receiver holds the state record for all classes for career receptions with 225.

In Class 1A, South O'Brien senior Ross Fernstrum, a 6-1, 215-pound tight end, was named to the third-team offense.

In Class A, Alta senior Scott Radke, a 6-2, 225-pound defensive lineman, was named to the first-team defense. Earning Class A second-team honors on defense was Galva-Holstein senior Ben Andresen, a 6-3, 230-pound lineman.

In 8-player football, Aurelia senior Jared Bruce, a 5-9, 160-pound quarterback, earned third-team honors on offense.
