LeRoy Jenness of Cherokee has been appointed by the Commander- in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars to serve as National Deputy Chief of Staff.

According to Allen Kent, adjutant general, the appointment was made because of Jenness' outstanding services to his department above and beyond the call of duty.

"I am sure you will fulfill this high office as National Deputy Chief of Staff with dignity and honor, both to yourself and the Veterans of Foreign Wars," Kent stated in his notification of the appointment.
