A power line worker was killed Friday afternoon, Nov. 30 near Cherokee, when a pole he was working on snapped, pinning the worker against a truck , according to the Cherokee Sheriff's Department.
Randall Morris, 54, Nichols, Iowa, was a member of a crew that was working on new electrical transmission lines in the area of T Avenue and 620th Street Friday afternoon when the pole snapped. A guy wire pinned Morris against the basket of a boom truck.
He was lowered from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Iowa Department of Labor is investigating the incident.
