LAWTON - The River Valley Wolverines girls' basketball squad members were pretty tired from a hard-fought 61-39 loss to Hinton the previous night, according to their coach, Terry Jensen, when they took on the Lawton-Bronson Eagles last
Tuesday at Lawton.
Though the Wolverines played a "decent" first half, said Jensen, trailing by 10 at the break, 23-13, they "wore down" in the second half, and that, coupled with poor free throw shooting (7 for 23 for the game), spelled a big loss to the Eagles, 64-24, with Lawton-Bronson outscoring their Maple Valley Conference rival 20-1 in the fourth quarter.
Emily Todd scored 10 points for the Wolverines. Kaylea Simons, with nine, and Jody Peterson, with seven, led the team in rebounding.
Alyssa Brockman's 33 points led three Eagles who scored in double figures. Brook Williams, with 15, and Mandy Wagner, with 10, were the others.
