Glenn was born to George and Mary (Meister) Todd on December 21, 1928 on the family farm in rural Washta, Iowa. He attended country school at Douglas Center and high school in Cushing. Glenn started farming at the age of eighteen and was named by the Farm Bureau as Iowa's youngest Farmer in 1947. He loved working the soil and raising livestock. He enjoyed all the seasons of farming - especially the summer, when he tended the new crop and fall, when he gathered the bountiful harvest. Glenn and Arliss moved to Holstein in 1984, and he continued to farm until his retirement in 1993, then farmed in his heart until his death.
