Brown Chevrolet and Buick in Cherokee will have a new lot for display of vehicles to supplement the Hwy 59 South location.

The project is being undertaken to improve the appearance of the lot, which is on the southwest corner of the intersection on North Second Street and Cherry Street. The lot just north of Subway has long been marred by debris, broken concrete and growing weeds.

"It was time to clean up an old eyesore in this community," said Bob Brown, proprietor. "This lot will accommodate my ever growing sales business and it's a win, win situation for the community and Browns."

Paving work and installation of lighting is expected to occur in the spring.
