According to NCFR founder Stan Sitzmann, "Many wonderful gifts and toys have been donated for this year's event. We only ask that all items for the auction are new or fairly new."
Many area merchants donated items for the fundraiser and many people from the county also donated items and cash.
Prior to the event, Sitzmann said that this year's turnout has been fabulous and he expected a record-breaking year for the annual event. The proceeds of the fund raiser will go towards helping 150 children in Cherokee County to receive a complete outfit of clothing for each child.
Tickets for the raffle are $1 for a chance at the prizes. First prize is $300 in groceries. Second prize is $100 in cash and third prize is $50 in cash. Groceries certificates are redeemable at Fareway and Hy-Vee.
Rounding out the fund raiser was a free bean and chili lunch that was served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
