The Cherokee School Board approved continuing a sharing agreement for boys' tennis with Galva-Holstein. The action was taken during the Monday evening meeting, which contained a light agenda of open session items.
This is a continuation of an agreement last school year to accommodate a G-H student who wanted to participate in tennis, which is played in the spring. The same student would like to play tennis this school year.
David Zelle, tennis coach at Washington High School, passed on to the board through Superintendent John Chalstrom that the sharing worked well last school year and recommended continuing the arrangement.
The board accepted the resignation of food service clerk Gigi Boothby.
The board approved the early graduation of Aaron Mummert.
Dave Moore, building and grounds supervisor, reported that there have been complaints about icy sidewalks. He said trying to deal with the ice is a constant effort.
The board went into closed session in order to discuss collective bargaining strategy and issues.
