Planning a future together

Tricia Langholdt and Cory Koster are two students currently attending South Dakota State University at Brookings. Like many college students who are planning for their future, they are looking ahead down the long road.

Tricia is the daughter of Terry and Dianna Langholdt and is a 2004 graduate of Washington High School in Cherokee. She is currently studying Early Childhood Education at SDSU

Cory is the son of Bruce and Jan Koster and graduated from Windom, Minn. in 2004 and he is currently studying Computer Science at SDSU. The couple has known each other most of their lives. Cory attended his early school years in Cherokee; although he moved away from town, he continued to keep in contacted with family and friends in Cherokee. He also came to visit during the summer time where he and Tricia would hang out with mutual friends.

The couple did not start dating until college when the two started to communicate on-line with each other. Soon their feelings became know to each other. Tricia was attending SDSU and Cory was at Mankato State University.

After a year of dating, Cory decided to pop the question to Tricia. The couple was in Cherokee visiting during fair time and the night of the demolition derby was also the one-year anniversary of the couple. Cory had a surprise awaiting Tricia at Spring Lake Park. With the help Tricia's parents keeping her occupied, Cory proceeded with his plans at the park.

Tricia received a call from Cory asking her to meet him at the park. Once arriving at the park Tricia discovered what Cory had been up too. On the west side of the lake there was a stairway leading down to the lake where a concrete slab sits. Cory had illuminated the stairs with candles that directed her to the slab were he had wrote out "I love you" in candles.

Being in a special place on a special day, Cory asked his special lady to be his wife. After catching her breath, Tricia said yes.

With the start of the new school year fast approaching, Cory transferred to SDSU to be closer to Tricia. They had a lot of work to do for a wedding that is planed for July 19, 2008. The ceremony will be held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee with Pastor James Steen presiding over the nuptials. The reception will follow the wedding and will be held at The Gathering Place.

Her father will give the bride away in marriage. The theme of their wedding will be a traditional one. Tricia's wedding dress is from the Allure Bride collection, ordered from Sequins Bridal Boutique in Cherokee. Cory will be wearing a black tuxedo and black tie.

Sean D. of Majestic Sound from Sioux City will provide music for the reception. Central Catering of Hawarden will be the caterer. Preserving the couple's special day will be Dingmore Photography of Mankato, Minn. Liza Fuller of Degree of Style in Cherokee will be styling the bride's hair.

Maid of honor will be Angelia Agnitsch, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids will include Jami Langholdt, sister-in-law of the bride, Alyssa Koster, sister-in-law of the bride, and Courtney Lemke, niece of bride.

Best man will be Chase Koster, brother of the groom. Groomsmen will include Chad Langholdt, brother of the bride, Reece Bierman, friend of the groom, and Jason Sykora, friend of the groom.

Ring bearers will be Kan and Trace Agnitsch, nephews of the bride.

Flower girl will be Hannah Van Den Eide, cousin of the groom.

Personal attendants will be Amanda Pence, friend of the bride and Jake Van Den Eide, cousin of the groom.
