W. Bruce Bierma, former city administrator for Cherokee, has been named the administrator of the town of Kronenwetter, Wis. Bierma started on Dec. 12 in Kronenwetter. His annual salary is $78,500.
Bierma is originally from Northwest Iowa, graduating from high school in Sioux Center in 1970. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo., and did graduate work at Northern Iowa University in Cedar Falls.
Bierma served in several city administrator positions before serving as the Cherokee city administrator from January of 1998 until December of 2002. Bierma had a position as city administrator in Jefferson, Wis., after leaving Cherokee.
Kronenwetter is a growing town in central Wisconsin.
The population as of the 2000 census was 5,369. The 2007 estimate is 6,254.
