Annette Poduska of Des Moines and Jared Bartel of Ames are pleased to announce their engagement and plans for a July 5 wedding in Ames.

Annette is the daughter of Dr. Larry and Judy Poduska of Lisbon. She is a 2003 Lisbon High School graduate and received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2007 at Iowa State University. She is currently works Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Jared is the son Dale and Linda Bartel of Cherokee. He is a 2003 graduate of Washington High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and will receive his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish in the spring of 2008 from Iowa State University. He is currently employed with Gilmor & Doyle Engineering in Des Moines.
