MOVILLE - The River Valley boys jumped out to a 20-6 lead after one quarter and used a nine-point edge in the third quarter to increase their lead and beat Maple Valley Conference foe Whiting in Class 1A District Tournament action here on Feb. 16.

The Wolverines displayed their usual well-balanced scoring to end the Warriors' season, 66-47.

Austin Hansen led the Wolverine scoring attack with 18 points, while Anthony Volkert scored 14 and Zach Hullinger 13. Tyler Clark scored nine points and pulled down seven rebounds, and Volkert, with six rebounds and Hansen, with five, helped out on the boards. Pat Parcels dished out six assists to his teammates, and Hansen tallied three steals.

Coach Dean Norris' team faced Woodbury Central in the Class 1A District semi-finals here on Feb. 19. The Wildcats beat Aurelia in Saturday night's second game, 46-45.
