Services were held March 5 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, with Rev. Armand Bertrand officiating. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cherokee.

Ruth was born Jan. 27, 1918 in Cherokee to Brian and Mary (King) Flanigan.
She attended school in Cherokee graduating from Immaculate Conception High School in 1936. On May 8, 1937 she married Marius M. "Stub" Streeter in Cherokee. He preceded her in death April 5, 2000. Ruth worked for the Dinner Bell Café in Cherokee for many years. Ruth enjoyed her family, baking, cooking and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Dr. Michael Streeter.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilee Strenge, and her husband, Daryl, of Melvin; a son, Gene Streeter, and his wife, Robin, of Cherokee; a daughter-in-law, Susan Streeter, of Turlock, Calif.; a sister, Hazel Rupp, of Marcus; two brothers, Earl Flanigan of Aurelia and Harold Flanigan of St. Paul, Minn.; and grandchildren, Steve Strenge, Mike Strenge, Karen Preusser, Matthew Strenge, Heather Westphal, Holly Streeter-Schaefer, Heidi Conley, Debbie Streeter, Jennifer Carter, Ryan Streeter, Megan Anderson.
