The pursuit ended at a farm residence south of Aurelia, where the suspect allegedly sustained a self-inflicted firearm injury. He was then air-lifted to a Sioux City hospital, and later transferred to an Omaha hospital in an unknown condition.
The incident remains under investigation, according to the Aurelia Police, and no charges have yet been filed in the case. No other information was released by Aurelia Police chief Gene Suhr.
Assisting at the scene were the Iowa State Patrol, the Buena Vista County Sheriff's Department, the Aurelia Fire Department, the Holstein Fire and Rescue, and the Cherokee Regional Medical Center ambulance.
