On Friday, April 4 Jane Schmillen, owner of Jane's Salon, will be hosting an open house in conjunction with a red ribbon ceremony with the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber Coffee will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the salon. Schmillen will be giving out door prizes every 10 minutes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from purses to "American Idol" T-shirts and a whole host of salon product that should make the open house memorable. She will be also serving donut holes in the morning and hot dogs and snow cones during the rest of the day. Everybody is welcome to attend.

Schmillen has requested that people planning to attend not bring any gifts.

She said instead of plants or flowers, people can bring something that can help a cause that is close to Schmillen's heart. That cause is "Locks of Love." She will be accepting locks of hair or monetary donations on behalf of her late nephew Taylor, to be given to the Locks of Love foundation.
