Larry D. Robinson, 69, of Cherokee, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Robinson was cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee has charge of the arrangements.
Larry was born Feb. 9, 1939 in Cherokee, the son of Harry and Flossie (Parcel) Robinson. He graduated from Washington High School in 1958 and was a 1963 graduate of Morningside College, with majors in Business Administration and Mathematics. He was employed in the state office of the USDA and the Farmers Home Administration in Champaign, Illinois from January of 1966 until his retirement in December of 1984.
Upon his retirement, Larry sold his home and returned to Cherokee. He was active with United Cerebral Palsy, serving on the state board of directors as well as president of the local board of directors. He also served on the board of directors of the Development Service Center. Larry enjoyed reading, current events and playing cards, either live or on the computer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Ronald, Bernard, Harry and Loren Robinson; three sisters Gladys Sleezer, Sally Pearson and Nina Heithus.
He is survived by two brothers Lloyd Robinson of Meriden and Raymond Robinson of Renton, Wash.
