The new property tax levy is $13.52 per $1,000, down from last year's $14.00 per $1,000.
The Board also approved John Anfinson to fill out the Board of Education term of Terry Jensen, who has moved out of state. Anfinson will serve until September, when the District will hold an election to fill the remaining year on Jensen's three-year term. In September, 2009, the District will have another election to fill the full-term vacancy.
The Board approved the support staff master contract, and approved support staff contracts for 2008-09. The support staff includes cooks, custodians, bus drivers, nurse, and aides.
The RV Board accepted the resignation of teacher/librarian Rhonda Becker. The position will be advertised and filled at a later date.
A request also was granted for the River Valley band/choir trip to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo. later this spring.
