Cherokee won a singles and doubles match for its two wins against the tough Midgets.
For the WHS lasses n singles, Shannon Schroeder lost 10-4 to Stephanie Wittmar at number one, Allie Parker beat Lexie Hash 10-4 at two, Demi Dunn lost 10-8 to Sarah Christiansen at three, Michelle McGarry lost 10-7 to Kaylene Vos at four, Sofie Seliger lost 10-3 to Emily Swalve at five, and Marissa Leissler lost 10-4 to Morgan Kirchner at six.
E-LC also claimed the JV match 8-1, with Sanna Miller winning the lone match for Cherokee on an 8-4 win at number five singles.
In other JV singles, Korriane Aguirre lost 8-1 at number one, Sydney Morton lost 8-3 at two, Aurora Buschkamp lost 8-1 at three, Amanda Kohn lost 8-3 at four, and Amber Melton lost 8-0 at six.
In JV doubles, Aguirre and Morton lost 8-2 at number one, Kohn and Hillary Wilkie lost 8-3 at two, and Kelsey Raper and Jenae Lundell lost 8-0 at three.
"The girls are improved from last year," said Cherokee coach Jan Tracy. "They are winning more games. Allie had a nice win at number two, and our number one doubles of Shannon and Demi played a smart match."
The Cherokee girls host Le Mars Monday, and travel to Spencer Tuesday for a make-up of the rained-out match here Thursday night.
