Harris, Schlinz pace Pirates' fortunes
HOLSTEIN - Lawton-Bronson made it a clean sweep for the boys and girls titles at the April 14th G-H Relays here, the boys winning with 711 points, to runner-up East Sac County's 700.5.
The host G-H boys were third with 614, folllowed by Westwood 510, Battle Creek-Ida Grove 501, Schaller-Crestland 479.5, Remsen-Union 457.5, West Monona 423, Whiting 417, River Valley 357.5, Woodbury Central 340, Odebolt-Arthur 339.5, Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto 170.5, G-H JV 58, and Kingsley-Pierson 37.
Also for G-H, Radke was third in the 100 meters in 11.16, and second in the 200 meters in 24.30; Galvin was third in the 1600 meters in 5:11.07; Bubke was fourth in the 110 hurdles in 17.70; Joh Mohr sixth in the 3200 meters in 12:06.16; the 4x400 relay of Galvin, Schlinz, Radke, and Harris fifth in 3:51.01; Patrick McAreavy fifth in the high jump with a 5-8 effort; Ben Andresen sixth in the shot put with a 41-10 1/2 throw; the 4x800 relay fifth with Harris, Steve Galvin, Josh Schwanz, and Andrew Galvin timed in 9:18.57; and Bubke third in the long jump with an 18-10 3/4 leap.
For River Valley, Dylan Bogenreif was fifth in the 3200 meters in 12:00.12; the 4x200 relay was fifth with Pat Brinkman, Taylor Georgopoulos, Sam Lundt, and Chance Cullen timed in 1:42.70; and the sprint medley relay of Lundt, Georgopoulos, Brinkman, and Cullen timed in 4:09.40.
