G-H squads compete in O-A relays

ODEBOLT - The Galva-Holstein Lady Pirates finished in 4th place at the April 18th Odebolt-Arthur Relays, scoring 83 points to trail champion Southern Cal (118 points), East Sac County (116.5) and Battle Creek-Ida Grove (87).

There were no individual or relay times, distances, or placements reported for the Lady Pirates.

The G-H boys scored 87 points to finish second, being edged out by BC-IG's 92 team points.East Sac County finished third (84), Schaller-Crestland fourth (77) and Southern Cal fifth (72).

The Pirates' Sam Radke captured third place in the 100 meter dash, with a time of 11.36, and 5th in the 200 meters (25.60), events which were both won by East Sac's Will McDonough.

Galva-Holstein's John Harris was also a double winner, capturing the 400 meter dash in a time of 52.44 and the 800 meter run in 2:14.75. The Pirate 4x400 team of Sam Radke, Andrew Galvin, Kellen Jacobson and John Harris took first place with a time of 3:42.28.

Also, Jared Schlinz was second in the 110 meter hurdles, with a time of 16.22; Andrew Galvin finished fifth in the 1600 meter run, with a time of 5:36.39; Josh Mohr was sixth in the 3200 meters (12:50.35); Collin Bubke finished second in the long jump, with a leap of 19-7 1/2; Patrick McAreavy was 4th in the high Jump (5-10); Mark Cronin finished fifth (40-2) and Adam Dreeszen sixth (40-1 1/2) in the shot put; Ben Andresen was 5th in the discus (124-5).

Also, the 4x200 relay team of Jared Schlinz, Jordan Bremer, Tyson Thoreson and Kellen Jacobson finished sixth with a time of 1:46.7; the 1600 medley relay team of Tyson Thoreson, Patrick McAreavy, Andrew Galvin and Steven Galvin finished third, running a time of 4:17.61; and the shuttle hurdle team of Thoreson, Bubke, Jacobson and Schlinz finished second, with a time of 1:06.30.
