DENISON - Host Denison-Schleswig defeated the Cherokee Washington High girls 219 to 238 in a non-conference golf dual here on April 21.

Ashley Powers of the Monarchs was medalist with a 53 in the cold, windy conditions, while Cherokee's Sara Sarchet was runner-up medalist after carding a 54.

Other low medal for Cherokee were Kelsey Ludwig 58, Amanda Callahan 62, and Danielle Hansen 64. Also for Cherokee, Ally Curry shot 66, and Emily Cook 69.

In JV action for Cherokee, Denison-Schleswig won 248-304.

For Cherokee, Jessica Cook carded a 73, Jenna Phipps 74, Maddy Miller 78, Emily Anderson and Julie Miller 79. Also scoring for Cherokee was Tonya Stowater 86.
