SPENCER - The going was tough and the weather cold and windy for the Cherokee Washington High girls tennis team at the 2008 Lakes Conference Girls Tennis Tournament here on April 26.

For Cherokee, number one player Shannon Schroeder, and number two player Allie Parker teamed up in the first-flight doubles competition and placed fourth, just out of the money for an All-Lakes Conference berth.

The WHS girls finished the tournament in sixth place. Spirit Lake/Okoboji won the team title, with host Spencer finishing second.
