DES MOINES - The Morningside College women's 3200-meter Relay team finished 8th in the college division at the Drake Relays on April 26th, but shattered the previous school record in the event by nearly 14 seconds.

Cherokee Washington grad Kara Nelson, a freshman, was one of three underclassmen on the team, which finished in a time of 9:42.53, shattering the former school record of 3:54,29 set in 1993. The other relay team members were freshman Heather Hoefs, sophomore Erin Keitges and senior Annie McInnis.
