Le Mars girls blitz Cherokee in tennis

LE MARS - A talented Le Mars girls tennis team blitzed the Cherokee Washington High girls 9-0 in Lakes Conference action here on May 1.

In singles action for Cherokee, Shannon Schroeder lost 10-1 to Samantha Rich at number one, Demi Dunn lost 10-5 to Caitlin Bauerly at two, Allie Parker lost 10-5 to Amelia Stonesifer at three, Michelle McGarry lost 10-1 to Natalie Miller at four, Korriane Aguirre lost 10-3 to Haley Switalski at five, and Sanna Miller lost 10-1 to Erica Westhoff at six.

In varsity doubles, Schroeder and Dunn lost 10-1 to Rich and Stonesifer at number one, Parker and McGarry lost 10-2 to Bauerly and Miller at two, and Aguirre and Miller lost 10-2 to Switalski and Westhoff at three.

Le Mars also swept the JV match 9-0, with Cherokee winning just three games in all six singles matches.

In JV singles action for Cherokee, Amanda Kohn lost 8-0 at number one, Hillary Wilkie lost 8-0 at two, Aurora Buschkamp lost 8-2 at three, Kelsey Raper lost 8-0 at four, Jenae Lundell lost 8-0 at five, and Amber Haupert lost 8-1 at six.

In JV doubles, Kohn and Wilkie lost 8-0 at number one, Buschkamp and Raper lost 8-3 at two, and Lundell and Haupert lost 7-2 at three.
