SIOUX CITY - Morningside College announced its MVPs for the indoor and outdoor seasons at its recent track and field awards banquet.

Freshman distance runner Kara Nelson of Cherokee was named the team's MVP runner for the indoor season, and junior high jumper-sprinter Anne Torkelson was named the women's indoor field event MVP.

Junior javelin thrower Vanessa Warzecha and sophomore distance runner Erin Keitges received the women's outdoor season MVP awards.

Freshman high jumper Ryan Gass and senior middle distance runner Jacob Trettin received the field event and runner awards, respectively, for the men's indoor season, and sophomore javelin thrower Brad South and sophomore sprinter Sean Howell received the men's MVP awards for the outdoor season.

Most Improved awards were presented to junior Josh Steinhoff in the sprints; junior Blair Lawton in the distance events, and sophomore Amber Price in the field events.
