WHS girls tumble in tennis Regional

SPENCER - The Cherokee Washington High girls tennis team lost 5-2 to Estherville-LC in the Class 1A Girls Regional Team Tennis Tournament here on May 12th.

The tournament was carried over from the 10th to the 12th due to inclement weather.

The Cherokee girls play Regional Individual and Doubles Tournament May 15th in Spencer.

Against E-LC, Cherokee's Shannon Schroeder beat Stephanie Wittmer 6-2, 6-4 at number one singles, Demi Dunn beat Lexie Hosh 6-4, 6-2 at two, Allie Parker lost 3-6, 4-6 to Sarah Chrestiansen at three, Michelle McGarry lost 1-6, 3-6 to Erin Olson at four, Marissa Leissler lost 2-6, 1-6 to Kaylene Vos at five, and Korriane Aguirre lost 3-6, 0-6 to Emily Swalve at six.

In doubles, the Midgets won at number three to clinch the match and end the action as the first team to win five matches. At number three doubles, Leissler and Aguirre lost 1-6, 2-6 to Olson and Swalve.
